Tanya Georgieva Avramova was born in Varna in 1985. She graduated with full honors in secondary education in 2004 at the Natural and Mathematical High School "Atanas Radev" - Yambol. In 2008 she completed her higher education at Technical University - Varna, majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Technology with a Bachelor's degree, and in 2010 she graduated with full honors with a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Technology at the Department of Manufacturing Technology and Machine Tools. In 2014 she defended her PhD thesis on " Managing the quality parameters of machined surfaces through the application of combined technological effects".
She started her academic career at the Department of Manufacturing Technology and Machine Tools of the Technical University of Varna as an Assistant Professor in July 2009. From January 2021 she holds the position of "Associate Professor" in the scientific specialty "Technology of mechanical engineering". She has participated in 5 research projects internal to TU-Varna, two of which she is the head of, one of which won a diploma for a project of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in 2019. She has been involved in two educational projects funded by the European Fund and is a team member of a research fund project. She has been Coordinator for TU-Varna of the project "Modernization of Higher Education to Achieve Interdisciplinary and Innovative Learning in the Digital Transformation". Assoc. Prof. Avramova has international specializations for teaching and training in universities in Lithuania, Czech Republic, Romania and Turkey. She is a member of the Scientific and Technical Society "Mechanical Engineering and Technology" at the NTS - Varna from 2011 and member of the Professional Association in Modern Manufacturing Technologies, ModTech, Iasi, Romania from 2018. She is an author and co-author of more than 40 study programs in the Bachelor and Master courses, as well as one textbook and two teaching guides in the field of mechanical engineering technology, technological equipment and cutting of materials and cutting tools. She has published 1 monograph and over 40 publications. She is an author of three utility models published in the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria in the field of combined tools with consistent impact on the machined surface. More than 40 graduates have successfully completed their theses under her supervision. She is currently supervisor of one PhD student and co-supervisor of two other PhD students. In addition to the teaching and research work, Associate Professor Avramova also has administrative duties, which over the years, as well as at the present time, are: Organizer of the Technical Drawing Olympiad - 2016 and 2017; Organizer of the Round Table "Engineering in Bulgaria - present and future" - 2021 and 2022; Responsible for the educational process at the Master's Degree until 2023; Responsible for the specialty "Computerized technologies in mechanical engineering"; Responsible for the candidate-student campaign of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering for the academic year 2018/2019 and 2019/2020; Responsible for the candidate-student campaign of Professional direction 5.1 Mechanical engineering for the academic year 2021/2022 and 2022/2023; Responsible for contracts for joint cooperation between the MTMT department and companies from the engineering industry; Head of department with term of office 2021-2023.
