Mariya Ivanova Konsulova-Bakalova was born in Balchik, Bulgaria. She graduated her secondary education in 1996 at "Hristo Botev" Secondary School, Balchik, and then higher education in 2001 at the Technical University - Varna, majoring in "Electronic Engineering and Microelectronics" in the Department of Electronics and Microelectronics. In 2007, he defended a PhD dissertation in the scientific specialty "Automated systems for information processing and management" on the topic "Automated system for processing data from multi-channel gas analyzers with miniature sensors" before the specialized scientific council of the higher attestation commission in Sofia.

She started her academic career at the MTMT department of the Technical University of Varna, initially as a part-time teacher, and then in the position of " Chief assistant" in February 2009. Since December 2023 she held the academic position of “Associate Professor” of subject "Engineering methods for modeling and analysis at the same department. She participated in seven research projects internal to TU-Varna, one infrastructure project and four projects of national funding. She has been scientific leader in one of them. She is a member of the Scientific and Technical Society for Machine Building Equipment and Technologies at the Varna Scientific and Technical Unions. She is the author and co-author of more than 26 study programs, as well as 5 teaching guidance for students in the field of automated design and analysis in the field of mechanical engineering.
